Description

No longer available – Slovakia is no longer posting to Australia.

The Altis V.4+ is the latest offering from Aerobtec in Slovakia, the home of F5J. It is a competition barometric altimeter designed especially for F5J competitions. It benefits from small dimensions and weight, and an integral LCD display for reading off the height readings – no need for a hand held reader and extra expense!

Using the Altis Flight Manager downloaded from the Aerobtec site, you can manage your own device and make settings to suit your needs. Of course, the device can be used for many height reading and cut-off purposes (eg. ALES, E-RES rules), but for F5J it can be set for a 30 second cut-off and registers the maximum height achieved between launch and 10 seconds after the motor is stopped (either manually by the flier, or at 30 seconds by the program). One of the excellent options is the ability to set the device to allow motor restarts during flight that give a blank reading (and a zero score) but allow you to save your aircraft and respond to safety issues. It also allows competition restarts without having to reset the device – just land and then launch again – the device resets itself upon re-launch.

Flight graphs can be downloaded to a computer after a flying session and the each flight reviewed.

The 4+ includes telemetry features for Futaba and FrSky radio sets, and also supports Jeti, Multiplex and Graupner telemetry.

Please note – the keyboard will not function if you instal in you Altis device F5J FAI firmware, which is required for serious international competition – that firmware does not allow any changes in the field. The keypad works with all other firmware types.
