Scorpion motors have gained a reputation for being robust, and for developing more power for their size than most other outrunner motors. The secret is in better quality magnets that will stand operating temperatures up to 200 degrees C, and windings rated to 180 degrees C.
The typical way that Scorpion describe their motors gives you all the information that you need; 30 designates the diameter of the rotor inside the motor. This results in motors of 37.5mm outside diameter, and all 30 size motors have this specification. The second pair of numbers indicates the length of the magnets; the longer the motor, more torque it will develop. So, a 3008 motor has 8mm long magnets. The numbers after the hyphen indicate the Kv rating, or the number of revs per volt (theoretically). The higher the Kv, the hotter the windings (thicker wire), the more revs, and higher the amp capability. The lower Kv motors have thinner wire on the windings, rev more slowly, pull less amps (and need to be limited in amps) but develop more torque. Generally, lower Kv motors are better for gliders. Shaft size for all 30 motors is 5mm.
Backmounts, prop adaptors, 3mm mounting screws and 3.5mm bullets are supplied with each 30 size motor.
