Description
Centrepieces are available that have the pivot holes for the blades angled. Some increase the angle of the blades and subsequently increase the pitch. Others decrease the angle of the blades and so decrease the pitch.
These are useful if blades with sufficient pitch, or insufficient pitch, at a certain diameter, are not availble.
Increase the pitch to go faster; pitch gives you speed! So, you have a hotliner fitted with a certain diameter propeller, say an 8×7″, and you want more speed without increasing the diameter – use a centrepiece with +degrees blade hinging centrepiece. You will draw more amps, but increase speed!
Conversely, you have a large glider with a 15×6″ folding propeller. It draws too many amps, but you do not want a larger diameter prop, so use a -degree blade hinging centrepiece; you will maintain torque (diameter gives you torque) but reduce the amps.
