This page refers to Oralight, which is an extremely light covering, excellent for E-RES models. All Oralight covering is 36g/sq.m., which is 33% lighter than Profilm Transparent colours. It is currently only available in Australia in a few colours – white transparent (as on the Ava), yellow transparent, Light Chrome (Silver) and Transparent Blue are available. See the extra image in the gallery. Please note there is a warning about the Light Chrome – the manufacturers say “do not place this covering over any cables that receive signals as it may mask the signals – it has a thin layer of aluminium on the under side”. And it is very sticky to use (I have tried it).
Oralight is so popular for lightweight gliders, I am keeping some in stock at special prices. If I am out of the colour you want, I will order it in for you.
Oralight and Profilm is made in Germany, often marketed under the name Oracover. It is very good quality covering, easy to use and strong. It is highly recommended.
I also can obtain Oratex, which is fabric covering with a weave like Solartex – heavier and stronger than most – ideal for scale models – see them in the list.
All rolls are 2000mm x 600mm.
