Description
The CAM height limiter has been adopted as the standard device for Height Limited Old Timer. You can also use it for height limited glider events, such as E-RES. This simple device levels the playing field for thermal seeking events. You can use any aircraft and you know that every person using a CAM height limiter will start at the same height.
This tiny device plugs in between your receiver and speed controller. You can set it to cut the motor at 200m and 30 seconds (whichever occurs first). Two others are also possible. You can change the height limit to 100m (as required for E-RES) or 150m and you do this with your transmitter in much the same way as you program ESCs.
One great advantage is that you can test your motor and then reset for the climb without having to disconnect the device. You simply lower the throttle for 3 seconds to re-arm the cut-out feature. This means that you can have several height-limited flights without resetting anything.
The CAM height limiter is not suitable for F5J as it does not include a logging facility. For F5J, see the Altis V.4+.
